Many people often ask me, "Why Medical?" or just assume that I plan on thriving for an art major in college, and although that idea was possible a few years ago in high school, along with the idea of me becoming a funeral director. Life and decisions change over time. I have jumped into the idea of being a surgeon and now a pre-vet student. Although I still do art, and art will forever be a part of me, art can also be applied to different aspects of the medical world, from techniques to even therapy for patients. I recall my last day at my high school, which was career day, I listened to a surgeon who discussed how people video games are beneficial for those in the medical field since the less invasive way of surgery is by looking at a camera that is attached to robotic arms. But when thinking about my art, and the classes I took in high school the techniques I learned can also be applied, along it said that art sparks empathy.
So welcome, to the Empire of Leigh. A collection of my earlier artworks, and my current pieces. A place where I put all of my creations as they live within my empire.
My name is Leigh Heward, and I was born in Oregon so far in my entire life, I found myself enjoying each moment of the beauties of nature, from the forest to the plateau, to the mountains, and the sandy beaches. Each moment is filled with silence as I think in those places. I am now in college, but I always wondered and struggled to express what my art style is.
I have been inspired by the works of Surrealism and Dadaism, along with Pop Art and Old Gothic Paintings, but although I may do cartoon styles time and time again or messy scribbles , the way I think about my art and the thought behind it makes it my style.
